Floodlight Technical Documentation

This page provides a starting point for public data endpoints provided by Floodlight for use by technical developers

Current Documentation version is v1.1

Our data is deliverable through two API endpoints:

Introduction

Using the Direct API requires an API Key which is provided directly by us. Please contact us via our web form or email us at support@floodlightinvest.com.

The Blockchain available node does not require any API key, but requires a working smart contract and each transaction to the smart contract is charged individually based on network and token.

Current Data Available

The below datasets are currently Available via the above methods.

  1. Global Biomass Data. Biomass Data is primarily used to measure the amount of forest or agricultural growth. Often used to monitor weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly changes. Applicable to use cases around sequestration validation, such as Carbon Credit issuance. Provided at the 10x10 meter area OR aggregated to a site (e.g. a field). Global Data Coverage for past 20 years.

  2. Site Specific Data. Asset level data access around ownership, operations, land use, land cover characteristics. Provided only at the site level. Most metrics available globally. Ownership available in select markets. Data available is past 10 years, yearly.

  3. Greenhouse Gas Emissions Data. Provides metric tons of carbon emitted at the 1x1 meter resolution globally. Includes total carbon, but can be broken down by CO2, Methane, and Nitrous constituent gases. Accessed via Address of Facility, Lat/Lon geospatial coordinates, or site polygon (shape of the area). Data is global coverage since 2012. High resolution from 2018-present. Data is available monthly, quarterly, and yearly.

    1. Scope 1 Data by Site. Direct Emission from a facility by address or site polygon. Data is delivered yearly or monthly in CO2e (metric tons).

    2. Scope 2 Data by Site. Scope 2 data is the indirect emissions of a facility. Only available for emissions of buildings and facilities. API is request only. Report processing after the request requires 24 hours. Data is delivered yearly or monthly in CO2e (metric tons).

  4. Physical Hazards. Physical hazard risks that are included are Earthquakes, Coastal Flooding, Hail, River Flooding, Heat Wave, Drought, Cold Wave, Wildfire, Wind Events, Tornado, Hurricane, Tsunami, Ice Storm, and Intense Snow. These are available for all global assets by address or lat/lon. Detailed methods available upon request. the data available is global and provides the current, on-the-ground risk for these data at the specified location. Historical and future risks also available.

  5. Current Conditions. Current conditions include weather data, flooding data, precipitation updated daily. Available globally and historically.

  6. Biodiversity Impact. Biodiversity impact of the location. Risk factors included in the response. Looks at species impacts and richness among others. Available for the past 20 years. Accessed via address or lat/lon.
